Course Description

This course is done in partnership with Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC). All crew who have a role in handling food are required to attend a basic food safety course. The course is required by most Flag States for crew working at sea. The aim of this qualification is to provide crewmembers with skills to be able to take personal responsibility for food safety, the importance of keeping themselves clean and hygienic, the importance of keeping the work areas clean and hygienic and the importance of keeping food safe.
